Our company owns and manages three websites with resources for elementary school teachers. We're looking for a hard-working, experienced sales director for a full-time position in our Tonawanda, NY office.
If you are chosen for this job, you will be asked to hire, train, manage, and work with a small sales team consisting of an in-house sales representative, as well as outside sales reps. You will be responsible for proposing, planning, and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy for our math practice program, I Know It (iknowit.com).
As sales director, your responsibilities may also include:
develop an operating budget for the sales department that correlates with our business' goals
determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by analyzing trends and results
assist with hiring and training an inside sales associate and/or product account manager
gathering lead data and ensuring that it is accurately entered into appropriate CRM software
hiring, training, and regularly communicating with outside sales representatives
If chosen for this position, you and your team will be responsible for:
develop and manage an operating budget for the sales department
negotiating and closing education technology service sales
following up with all potential leads via e-mail and phone
hosting video conference product presentations
preparing for and attending regional trade shows
following up with existing customers to encourage annual product renewals
Necessary job requirements:
experience working in a sales management role
experience in leading a sales team
past experience meeting or exceeding company sales goals
excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred job requirements:
experience selling to educators or school district administrators
degree in sales, business administration, marketing, and/or K-12 education
All applicants should be comfortable:
using, demonstrating, and selling products for educators
working in a small-business office setting
reaching out to school administrators and teachers
preparing and presenting product demonstrations
communicating with clients and coworkers via phone, email, and video conference
This position will require both in-house office work, as well as travel. Candidates should have ability to work in our Tonawanda office regularly to collaborate with management and in-house sales staff. However, you may also be expected to travel to trade shows and to meet with outside sales reps as-needed. Expect to travel up to 30% of the time.
